Deseret UAS & AUVSI MW Chapter Co-Host Guest Lecture

More than 70 attended Deseret UAS Guest Lecture by Jared Esselman, Director Aeronautics, Utah Department of Transportation. Deseret UAS and the Mountain West Chapter of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) are teaming up to host Guest Lecturer, UDOT Director of Aeronautics, Jared Esselman. 

Mr. Esselman discussed the state's Urban Air Mobility plan and their role in developing the necessary aerial infrastructure for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and UAM to flourish in Utah.

Jared Esselman, UDOT Aeronatuics Director

Jared Esselman started his aviation career in 2002 as a Loadmaster on C-17s in the United States Air Force. After serving in the military Jared earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC; interned in the White House under President George W. Bush; and then earned his Master’s in Public Policy with a focus on state and local public finance, from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Jared has since worked in Government Affairs in the aviation industry developing and implementing aviation policy, regulations and processes.
