The Board of Directors sets the strategic direction for Deseret UAS. The board meets monthly and provides guidance to staff, establishes policies and procedures, approves invoices, and conducts other business related to the organization’s activities.
Board Chairman, Tooele County Commissioner
Mr. Milne is the County Commissioner for Tooele County responsible for commerce, tourism and economic development. His first task as commissioner was to address the county financial issues. Under his leadership, the county’s financials turned around and is now on solid financial ground. More than three years ago he had a vision to bring high technology jobs to rural Tooele County through the promotion to the unmanned aerial systems industry.
Mr. Milne also serves on the Board of Directors for Tooele Valley Community Co-op (TVCC) is a tax-exempt clearinghouse for donations made to area partners. TVCC oversee and disburse donations made on behalf of individuals and corporations to area charitable causes.
Mr. Milne served on the Board of Directors and for the Tooele Chamber of Commerce and as an Ambassador Chairman.
Treasurer, Tooele County Recorder
Mr. Houghton was elected as Tooele County Recorder in 2010 and as Tooele County Recorder/Surveyor in 2014. He serves on the Deseret UAS Board of Directors. He is a local Tooele businessman and was the 1996 Chamber of Commerce and Tourism President. Deseret UAS benefits from his demonstrated history of working with local government administration and industry. He graduated from Utah State University with a BA in Business and is a Retired Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sergeant.
Secretary, Director Box Elder County Economic Development
Mr. Zundel serves as the Secretary of the Deseret UAS board of directors and as a Board Member. He has a long history of encouraging economic development through the growth of new businesses, expansion and retention of existing businesses, and recruiting businesses into Box Elder County. He is currently the Economic Development Director for Box Elder County, Executive Director for the Box Elder Redevelopment Agency, and President of the Box Elder Utah Community Development Corporation (also known as the Box Elder Economic Development Alliance). Mr. Zundel has lead the efforts to develop a UAS test range with Northrop Grumman (formerly Orbital ATK). Additionally, he serves as the Vice Chair for the Composites and Aerospace of Northern Utah (CANU). He has also served on the board of the Utah Alliance for Economic Development. He holds a Masters in Business Administration and a BA in Business Informations Systems from Utah State University.
Board Member, Commissioner Box Elder County
Mr. Hadfield is a Commissioner for Box Elder County where he counts as his successes helping the county achieve low unemployment, get out of debt, and has created 1,200 jobs in the county. He was instrumental in the development of the UAS Flight Test Range at the Northrop Grumman facility in Box Elder County. He is also a local businessman and brings his business skills to county government. Mr. Hadfield serves on numerous board of directors, including the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah), Utah Association of Counties (UAC), and the Brigham City Community Hospital. He holds a B.A. Degree in Technical Sales, Weber State University.
